Star Wars Update

So I finished Episode III. My Star Wars weekend is over. I have to say I really liked it. It was the best of the three. It was nice watching them in consecutive nights. I realized most of my points about what didn’t work were directed at Episode I. I loved the way George Lucas began weaving familiar elements from the original series into the film. From the noise of the ships, to the guards, it brought us perfectly to the beginning of Episode IV. The performances were looser, as was the dialogue. Very few ridiculous CG characters to contend with, although why did General Grievous have a cough, wasn’t he mostly a robot? Also that thing Obi-Wan was riding was a bit much. And one final nit-picky thing, I doubt Obi-Wan would have left Anakin alive. Yes he was burning up, but he knew how dangerous he was, he would have made sure. I know he has to be left alive, I just thought the staging could have been a bit different.
Thanks for indulging me in my Star Wars nerd weekend. And the stomping from the new people moving in above me has stopped. No…wait. They just got back. Time for the ear plugs. Well anyway, the last three nights I was able to drown out the noise with Star Wars. Thanks to George Lucas’ stellar sound design.
